Baking Soda Molasses Protocol for Cancer Dogs

15 Apr

Update: Below is the protocol I used on my dog. As I am not a veterinarian, therefore I cannot give you advice on how to do this to your dog nor will I tell you that you should. I can only write about what I’ve done for mine. I also want to add that upping a dog’s PH can do real damage to some of their organs, if you are not careful. I also must add there is no way I would have done this for Buford had I not first a) changed his diet to get him off grains, carbs and onto kale and superfoods and b) boosted his immune system first with the supplements and the super-diet.  So remember, doing this without changing the diet or the natural supplements means you are only changing a part of the whole, expecting only part of it to work.  And it won’t.

Baking Soda and Molasses : Figuring it Out

Protocol for humans is 4oz water to 1 tsp baking soda and 1tsp molasses  once a day until day 6 when you increase. Full instructions for humans are here. Problem is, I am unclear what to do for a dog. From what I’ve read a dog’s PH range is different than humans.

Here’s a guy that claims Molasses cured a dog with cancer.

From what I understand, there is no n0rmal PH range in a dog. It may test around a 6.5 to 6.75 is nothing to balk at, but below 6 may be issues.  According to Creature Comfort regarding PH:Urine Ph 7.0 and lower indicates acidic/neutral whereas Urine Ph 7.0 and higher indicates alkalinity.”

Therefore,  I can only assume getting it to an 8 would achieve the same ALKALINITY as what is going on with Vito here to “kill his cancer”  www.phkillscancer.com.

The Dog Hates it

I will tell you this, there is no way in h*ll to get your dog to drink this stuff. Even though it smells like gingerbread cookies, no can I get him to drink it. Now, my dog trusts me and does basically whatever I tell him to do. This however, is not going to happen.  I tried a sip myself, GROSS!  Unless you shove a turkey baster down their throat you may as well come up with something creative. My whole thing is not to make him feel as though things are different, so the turkey baster down the throat idea is OUT.

I tried mixing it in with his kale. No go.

I tried mixing it into his chicken. No go.

The basset hound has a keen sense of smell, and the molasses is now after he tasted it with baking soda, associated with YUCKY.

Obviously I had to tweak this to a way to get the mixture in him. I do not know if it will work or not.

First, I used a small 1/4 measuring cup. I put about 2 tsp of baking soda into water, I totally dilute the baking soda in water and mix it up good, then add in the Brer Rabbit Molasses 2tsp. Water rises to the top, now since the baking soda has already been technically diluted, I will tilt the measuring cup to the side and off comes the excess water. Now I have a bubbling mass of molasses turning light brown from the oxygenation of the bicarboniate soda. Keep mixing and it stops looking like a science project. This is probably some type of toxic mixture at this rate. I’d like to call it my dog-compound.

NOTE: *This 2tsp + 2sp  is technically twice the amount for humans, but I was making a paste. I did not use 2 tsp + 2tsp into the dog immediately, I made the paste this way and then took a portion for my dog’s weight and put it in a hot dog. For a 60 lb dog I did the math and figured he should get 1/3 of a teaspoon of the paste.  I made 4tsp mix of the paste because stuffing hot dogs will have the paste running out all around and you will lose a lot of paste. Better to have extra than not enough. I made a new paste this way every day and discarded the leftoevers.

Mathematician – How I found Buford’s amount to get into him.

Now remember, humans drink only 1tsp mixed into water.  So I had to tweak this to a dog.  As there is nothing written about this, I can only explain what I’m doing and I suggest anyone who is trying this is running it by their vet first.  ALSO REMEMBER BUFORDS IMMUNE SYSTEM WAS BUILT UP BEFORE I DID THIS BECAUSE OF HIS NATURAL DIET AND LOTS OF NATURAL HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS.  My dog is 60#. An average human is three times that. So, I decided if I get 1/3 the dose for adults in him, I”m doing okay.  That would be 1/3 tsp of the dog compound WHICH IS A MIX OF BAKING SODA AND MOLASSES

WHY I WENT HIGHER: (Buford has it in his lymph nodes and he had a huge immune boost with all the stuff I’ve been giving him, so when I look at my dog he’s big. He’s over 60 lbs and he’s not  sick. He eats good, healthy appetite, he runs and plays, and he’s been boosted up. Having a complete diet change and immune boosters including kale superfoods, natural animal fats, and all kinds of natural supplements is the only reason I made the decision to give him 1/2 tsp a day. This is a higher dose than I based my measurements on. This came to 1/4 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp molasses into the hot dogs. (at least for the first six days, then I decided to increase).

The scary part is your dog can’t tell you when he’s overdosing on bicarbonate soda and molasses. I watched him closely and I bought some PH test strips for his urine. I had to go to the Vitamin Shoppe to get them.   During this time I slept on the floor with him. He was up a lot peeing and his stomach was growling. I knew something was happening.

Here’s what Happened To Buford:

Day One 0kay not much change

Day two  ok a little nauseous

Day Three night sweats, erratic behavior going out constantly, something is happening in his body.

Day Four  tired, slept all night and most of the day, did not poop

Day Five  looked like death warmed over I pulled back the dose a bit, hardly pooped

Day Six  feeling much better,  reduced the dose and he crapped like a racehorse, had small bits of something yellow in it?

Day Seven. PH Is measuring 8. He is feeling okay. I am giving baking soda and molasses day and night now.  Active

I am on Day Eight right now and have to keep him at 8 or above…………..

So How Did I Get It In Him?

Simple, I used  pure trickery.

Buford over the years has developed a love for three human foods : Pizza ,  Hot Dogs, and butter.  Not by my choice, it’s just what he used to jump up on the counter and steal when no one was looking. Used to steal the whole stick of butter and run outside with it. Loves butter to death.

There’s no way I’m giving him carbs in the pizza crust, maybe I should since he’s on his death bed but I went to far to give up now. So I went for the lesser two of three evils. Butter and hot dogs.

I am now hollowing out pockets in bits of hot dog and filling with this nasty mixture. I will give him one tiny bit of untreated hot dog. Another real quick like throw it in his mouth. You know when you have a hand full of treats and the dog starts gulping them down, he doesn’t even know what it is you are feeding him he is so worried about eating them all. This is what you want. to achieve, to where you can feed him the dog compound in clear trickery.

So, I then send a hollowed out piece with the mixture. then I give him another untreated, then the mixture. He’s eating it. He’s swallowing them down.  Yuck for him, yeah for me!

On day 4 he caught on to my trickery when he bit into it and the mixture squirted out of it. I needed a back up plan.

Enter the Butter.  I sliced 1/8 thin pieces of butter and fashioned a tiny butter box . I filled it with the mixture and prepared for the same game. A small piece of butter. He’s loving it. Next piece. Gulp. Insert butter box and voila. Swallowed.

Now I am unsure if the butter and hot dogs are just going to screw everything I’m trying to do with his diet, and to acheieve with baking soda and molasses “dog compound” but the way I see it, we are already at the end of the road and out of options. Anything besides here would be a huge improvement.

NOTE:  His PH is reading 8 two days in a row, so transferring this into him is obviously working.

For anyone to do this, this is risky. The problem with this therapy in dogs is the dog can’t tell you if they are feeling woozy, or sick, or having the cold sweats like this indicates.  I have dedicated every waking minute to watching him and have a lot of leeway since I’m self employed and have a wonderful husband.  As well, the protocol for humans indicates to take more potassium (even though the molasses has it in there, you need more, and the dog is also not going to eat a banana when he’s low on potassium.  )

This is where you and your dog have to communicate in some way, some how. I would never do this protocol then go off to work and leave him uncared for. Anything could happen.

Buford will jump out of a deep sleep to need to go outside, and I’m right there with him.  He knows changes are happening, but what we don’t yet know. Let’s hope it’s something, better than our present situation.

My dog has a will to live and darn it, I’m going to help him fight.

I think I relaxed too mcuh with Emmy – she’s still with us, and walking around a lot, but she’s peeing a lot, just as she was late last year and early this year, when I was afraid she might be diabetic. I found bloody diarrhea on the landing the other day, and I don’t know which dog it came from, and if it was tumour-related.

I’m going to try her with PH water – that’s the only thing I can think of that might match this mixture.

    • Ira Mency May 26, 2013 at 11:48 am #

I am routing for her and hope she is okay. Buford pees more frequently, it is the tumor mass pressing on his colon area. Only a matter of time before it stops his flow altogether. It’s hard marking the decision when or where ; but as long as he’s not in pain my goal is to give him the best final days ever.

Thank you very much for your blog. How is Buford? Please, give us some good news. I’m also trying to save my dog. He was given to live 2 weeks to 1 month by a vet. I’d like to ask you a question about the dosage. Could you help me to understand your idea, please? In this article you wrote that the dosage for human was 1tsp of BS + 1tsp of molasses. You mixed 2tsp of BS + 2 tsp of molasses. Then, you wrote that an average human was three times than human. So, you decided if you got 1/3 the dose for adults in him, you were doing okay. But you did 2 tsp + 2 tsp. It’s twice more than human dosage. Therefore, you should’ve given 1/6 the dose for adults? Could you tell what your thoughts are about it, please?

Hello Vlad sorry to hear about your dog. I am not a vet nor can I give medical advice but I will explain what I did with Buford. The 2tsp and 2tsp was the SCIENCE PROJECT PASTE MIX. (Human protocol is diluted in water, dogs wont drink it) So therefore Buford did not get all of that given to him. He only got 1/2 tsp per day of the paste buried into the hot dogs, so this was actually only 1/4 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp molasses if you choose to get technical.

I based his dose on on the the human dosage on 180 lb human (that’s what the guy doing the protocol was around 165-180 lbs.) SO I took the dose and divided by three, as Buford is 60 lbs which is 1/3 of 180. Normally the 1/3 dose of humans would have been good, but I gave him a little more 1/2 tsp because I had felt confident that he was running, playing, and his immune system was boosted by the kale, natural diet, and everything.

IF my dog was sickly, not eating right, or still on grains I would not have done this. It would have caused more damage than good in Buford, because he is living proof that you have to change the whole diet, supplement the immune system with a boost, then try the PH protocol.

      I will email you too.

Hope Buford is okay. My dog has three tumors. One large one and two small ones. Could you please update on Buford and his treatment. Thank yo

You have a terrific story and you’ve inspired me to move forward and try the system myself on my Tawny (she’s 6 yrs young and has had two tumors removed). We have always home cooked for our pups and live in the country so the dogs get lots of fresh air and exercise. And yet, this has happened. Anyway, i wanted to reach out and find out how Buford is doing now that it’s November? I hope you’re able to reply with some good news – i could use a little of that right about now.

    • Blog Update! November 16, 2013 at 3:38 am #

      thanks Perry, and AJ.

Sorry to hear about both of your dogs tumors.

i really believe taking them off grains and feeding them organic chicken, kale, and meats will help in some way, I learned one thing, you have to feed the dog and not the cancer Basically doing this just means it just CAN and MAY slow down the cancer spreading process. With Buford there is no cure, jnor is there when your pet has cancer cells or tumors. We can just try to delay of the obvious, and it takes a lot of work to cheat death for a short time. I even took Buford off the rice and glutens. I know plenty of people who think there’s nothing wrong with ground beef and rice, but no way in heck am I going back there. Gluten free and loving it, he’s not even got arthritus now.

The ph protocol is scary and can do damage to your dog’s organs. I literally stayed with him day and night while doing it. There were nights he was hot and sick from the PH The PH-Cancer protocol was my last hope, and for me it worked. The only proof I have is the fact the tumor did not grow from scan A to scan B.

I have not gotten Buford rescanned as much time has passed, and the rays are not good for him anyhow. I now just watch his bowels each day now to make sure he is still going freely and okay.and not urinating too frequently.

I cannot tell you enough that love and hugs also seem to make a difference.

He is doing well, but now is mourning the loss of his girlfrlend….I can only hope this doens’t adversely impact his heatlh. https://bassethoundcancer.wordpress.com/2013/11/15/baltimore-news-pit-bull-attack-killed-bufords-girlfriend/

      Good luck with Tawny

      • Perry November 16, 2013 at 1:26 pm #

Thanks so much for your reply and I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

4 years ago, my wife was involved in a terrible car accident with both my 6 month old black lab, and Tawny, who was 1.5 years old at the time. Besides my wife’s numerous injuries, the black lab suffered a broken back and my chocolate suffered from 5 broken ribs, and a near-fatal diaphragmatic hernia. Our vet, the dog god, saved them both. Fast forward 4 years and now we’re trying to cope with this. The truth is, my wife noticed a lump on Tawny’s side over a year ago, and our vets wife, a vet in her own right, stated that it was just a cyst. Several visits over the course of the last year, we pointed out that the lump hadn’t gone away, only to be told that it was nothing. Then, two weeks ago, a second, larger lump appeared on Tawny’s hind leg. A visit with the husband confirmed that it was in fact sarcoma and she was operated on a few days later to have both lumps removed. The test results predictably came back that both were cancer, but different cancers. And here we are: trying to understand how our vets wife misdiagnosed the original lump, and trying to move forward with something, anything, to help Tawny. I will not put her thru chemo or radiation, knowing that those poisons will ultimately kill her. A friend mentioned the bicarbonate protocol and that’s how I found your story. We’re on day three of the protocol and I’ve increased the dose to a teaspoon, twice a day, since Ive been recording a steady decline in her PH levels, despite the dosages. I’m also going to try hemp oil, as it too is known to kill cancer cells.

Truth is, at this point, I can only guess that the cancer has spread, but an MRI and CT scan this week will confirm this. I keep hoping and praying for a miracle.

And I’m torn about what to say to our vet: how very disappointed I am that they missed the original lump, and if Tawny has to be put to sleep as a result, I might go postal. I try to keep in mind that this same office saved my babies 4 years ago. And like you, I simply can’t believe that the two of them were saved then only to have Tawny get struck down, at 6 years young, by cancer.

Your story inspired me and Birdie’s passing made me weep. All responsible dog owners can’t help but feel the same, for we are all connected by our love and devotion for our dogs, and we all feel your pain!

I will let you know what the scans show, and I will keep you and Buford in our thoughts. The anger will pass, albeit slowly. Focus on your husband and Buford, and on continuing your awesome work with rescues – a truly noble cause. It certainly takes a special person to take on the challenge of rehabilitating any rescue.

The PH levels DO NOT have to be abnormally high to affect the cancer cells. It’s the Baking Soda that piggy backs on the syrup molecules that kill cancer cells. Cancer eats sugar and sodium bicarbonate because it loses sugar, period. If your PH gets to high you’ll need to add HCL to help the stomach digest food. BTW, each internal organ has it’s own PH level which will not be the same as the urine PH. Check out Dr. Tullio Simoncini’s website. Good Luck!

how is Buford? our Basset, Fred, was just diagnosed with lymphoma last week – we are heartbroken yet hell bent on making what time he does have excellent

So Is Buford still in this world? I hope so. I’m thinking about trying this protocal on my German Shep. I heard a lot about it for humans.

Can you give me the proportions for my 30lb, 13yr old Coco. She too has a couple tumors for a couple yrs. Fortunately they haven’t grown but I have read good info on baking soda and would like to incorporate it in her diet. Surprisingly, I thought molasses was the extract healthy part of sugar after refinement. So isn’t molasses a substance cancer cells thrive on being that it comes from sugar?

    • breezee33 January 21, 2017 at 4:52 pm #

look into ginger and turmeric also, they help shrink tumors.

the molasses is meant to be like a Trojan horse, the cancer cells “open the gates” for the sugar and then the baking soda attacks.

My dog has a mass cell tumor in his lung. Typically they are on the skin. According to the Oncologist there is nothing that can be done as this particular type of tumor has tentacles and reaches out and forms another mass. I would be interested to know what type of tumor your dog had. My dog, a little Shih-tzu turned 11 this year.

my dog had lymphatic carcinoma, originally his anal glands were removed due to cancerous growth, but later, spread to his nodes.

Hey I was wondering could you make a video of you making paste, trying to make for my yorkie, but don’t think it’s turning out right, do u pour water out, after you tilt the measuring cup?

    • Admin November 25, 2016 at 1:35 am #

actually i just took about half a teaspoon water to tablespoon baking soda, and mixed into a thick paste THICK ENOUGH To stuff into the hot dog without running out.

  9. Midge May 10, 2016 at 2:15 am #

I like the paste idea, I’m going to put mine in a capsule, my dogs used to those. Thanks

My rottie is done with day four. Difference is i am using honey . i am going to blog mine when i can make time. I do work and have to trust leo, 6, to rest plenty whilst i am at work. I add warm water to the mixture and am usin 1 plus 3 as for humans. I use a syringe to administer the mixture. So glad to see that others are trying it too.

    • Admin November 24, 2016 at 8:26 pm #

how is your rottie doing. i did not use use this, stuck with molasses due to compound of the sugar, which is yummy to cancer cells

My dog has a tumor almost the size of his body that is shutting his body down. It’s hard to notice but one night he was panting and kept looking up and slightly whining. The vet gave him pain medicine and we have been trying other things to help him and now he is acting usual walking around and jumping. He is an 18 year old Yorkshire terrier weighing 14 pounds. My mother said I should try giving him 1/4 teaspoon to try and help his tumor shrink. I really appreciate you making this article and I am planning on doing the same for my baby.

How about brushing your dog’s teeth with half teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate a day? Will that be easier ?

Hi, I’m currently in the middle of this treatment with Brady our 9 yr old border collie who was diagnosed with lymphoma. I usually give the molasses mix to him for about 8 -9 days see all the same things you describe and then give him 2-3 days off so that we don’t over dose him. Is there a timeline for how long you should give this? Thxs, My condolences on Buford. We’ve had 5 dogs, Brady is my favorite. I know we’re not supposed to do that 🙂 but he’s just my buddy. anyone that can give me some answers pls do- my email is cayugaa10@yahoo.com.

i’m trying to find out the same thing. there’s so little info out there with dosages and such for dogs. i think i’m going to consult with a vet that specializes in Chinese medicine… based on your email, are you in the Ithaca area? i haven’t contacted her yet but the holistic vet is in Cortland. i’ll update on how that goes. our trip to the oncologist was a waste BUT they might be helpful for Brady. we saw the one at the Colonial Veterinary clinic, he’s involved in some sort of lymphoma study. Al’s lymph nodes were normal when he tested that so she didn’t qualify but dogs that do are treated for free with i think just prednisone or something similar.

I wanted to let everyone know that Brady passed Tuesday morning @ 11:00. This protocol works- he lived almost the full 6 months(he’d been given between 3-6 months) and did so right up until days before his death active and healthier- my vet said that he had only seen one or two dogs that accomplished this in his time as a vet and thats saying quite a bit as he is considering retiring. For all those battling cancer with their furry family members I wish you well and will keep all in prayer.

i’ve been giving my dog tons of ginger. i want to start doing this too but she’s already so suspicious of everything i feed her that i’m not positive i can pull it off. how long did you give the paste for? was Buford on any conventional meds too? we haven’t been able to track down where Alibi’s cancer is. her lymph nodes are normal and mostly everything has come back normal except her calcium is off the charts high. i made the decision to treat the problem i know is there(the calcium) with prednisone and proceed blindly on the rest.

    • breezee33 May 3, 2017 at 7:43 pm #

      ***UPDATE***
Alibi’s calcium levels reached a life-threatening high back in January. after a trip to the oncologist and still no idea where the cancer is, i had them start her on Prednisone and i was mixing baking soda in with her food. she was back to her old self until the beginning of April when she started having mobility issues. an xray of her back finally found the cancer and she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma based on that. in the last two weeks she’s lost all mobility in her hind end due to the weakness/compression of her spine but aside from that she’s still healthy and energetic. i’ve kind of parted ways with my vets(there’s three in the practice) because they haven’t been very proactive in treating anything without the overpriced egotistical oncologist being involved. so i researched on my own and decided since she’s still healthy and strong to try her on chemo drugs. i found a less restrictive vet to prescribe Melphalan and ordered it online through Diamondback Drugs. so far so good.

      • Admin June 29, 2017 at 4:48 am #

Sorry for the late reply. I am glad for your update and I don’t understand why they didn’t do the x ray or ultrasound sooner to pinpoint the cancer. I left my original vet after Buford was diagnosed with cancer…I sure miss him. I am glad the baking soda helped somewhat and I’m sorry to hear she’s on chemo drugs, I hope they help.

      • breezee33 July 10, 2017 at 8:11 pm #

thanks, i think the Melphalan(chemo) definitely helped keep help her comfortable, if her vet had given me the option of surgery to fix the nerve damage in her back i would have. i think not being able to walk and go to the bathroom on her own really took a toll. she started slowing down in June and lost a lot of muscle mass. i tried to keep my promise to her that when she was done fighting and didn’t want to eat i’d let her go, she passed away early in the morning the day the vet was scheduled to come put her to sleep. it’s been almost 3 weeks but it still doesn’t seem real 😦

I have started the baking soda cancer treatment on my dog and just as yours my dog is running jumping eating like a normal dog and I want to fight the big mast cell tumor on her leg they cannot operate on …. i would like to continue to read your journey as for me just started baking soda tonight I mixed with syrup and I also made a paste of coconut oil cannabis oil and baking soda as her tumor is open wound , i read alot about it closes wounds and keeps them from getting infected, im also going to try alkaline water, i would like to know if your dog gets well

To get some potassium I would think that Carob from the carob tree.. The black dried beans.
I know that people use them to make dog treats. And my puppies used to eat them raw from my hand.
This Carob suppose to be full of potassium!

Thanks for the article, it was a pleasure to read, and heartwarming to feel your connection with your friend.
I am in the same fight, but luckily I have some time. The sickness not that agrassive.
I’m also now a herbalist in the making, and enjoy that experience is shared..
